Data input in modern times is overwhelming. By no fault of our own, we wake up inundated with visual stimuli that could send a purtain into the hospital. To a certain extent we curate our space, but past a certain point these decisions are made unbeknownst to ourselves, especially when living in a city and conducting daily activities. Everything has impact, the brutal experience of sitting in standstill LA traffic or the peaceful consumption of a spring evening stroll on the shoreline.
Every aspect of our body from how our nails are trimmed, hair is cut, to the fit of our clothing leaves an impression on others and ourselves. The idea that you should dress or manicure yourself to send one particular message to someone else does not resonate with me, however i deeply understand its utility.
When I curate my closet or manicure my body i treat it like a ritual. I reflect on the past, what i wore, what happened, how it made me feel, how can i evolve the look, how can i integrate new combinations of scents, accents, and other aspects to creatively express where i am now and where i see myself in the future. I integrate deep sentimental value in my personal style. The artwork i put on my body and how i dress tells my story because i don't like to speak too much tbh- albeit its a huge part of my day job as a hairstylist. I consciously try to allow space for my clients to tell me their stories which inspire me to live with more purpose and alignment to my highest purpose.
I thoroughly enjoy curating my personal space, inside of my home, my car, my shop, my body, with art and pieces that are nourishment to my soul and spark inspiration to those around me. This allows me to show up as best i can a vessel for creation- my exploration that span across cultures and sub-genres are constantly being updated and collected in the library of my mind.
If this has sparked your interest in collaborating with me on your personal style or creative projects please feel free to reach out.
